The PBA is pleased to announce that the 2017 Convention will take place in Jasper, Alberta at the Best Western Jasper Inn & Suites.
The session’s at this years’ convention will focus on leadership for your clients and staff, IT hackers, seizing business opportunities, utilizing the business model canvas and adapting to unwanted change, just to name a few. We have a number of accomplished speakers who looking forward to speaking at our convention.

Meet Our Presenters
Angel Meinecke, FPBA, MFA
Angel is the President and senior accountant at her firm, Celestial Accounting Services in Slave Lake, AB. She received her accounting designation in 2002. Her association granted her a Fellow distinction in September 2008 and the highest honor – Lifetime Achievement in September 2015.
Not only are her clients extremely important to her, but so is her professional society where she has served on the Provincial and/or National Board of Directors since 2004. Angel is currently the national President of the PBA Society. She earned her MFA (Master Financial Advisor) in November 2013. She does the tax planning and year-end preparation as well as consulting on succession plans, US Tax returns and real wealth management.
Michael McCormack, MNP LLP
Michael McCormak, BA, CFI, is a senior manager in the Investigative and Forensic Service line of MNP LLP. He is responsible for investigations across Canada. He works with First Nations, corporations, public organizations on employee misconduct, risk assessments, due diligence and harassment cases. Mike is a graduate of Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology with a major in Law and Sociology. Mike is designated as a Certified Forensic Investigator.
Before joining MNP, Mike served for 24 years at the Ottawa Police Service, where he worked in municipal and federal policing roles. He has experience investigating complex international financial crimes including a variety of fraud schemes, money laundering and proceeds of crime offences.
Mike was previously in charge of the Integrated Payment Team at the Ottawa Police and was responsible for the direction and investigation of payment card offences and large scale identity theft offences. Mike was designated by the Ontario Court as an expert in the identification of fraudulent payment cards and identification of fraud schemes. Mike served as the Anti-
Organized Crime Coordinator for the European Union Police Mission in Bosnia and is experienced in dealing with international and national law enforcement agencies. Mike was seconded to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Integrated Proceeds of Crime unit where he served as a team leader and manager.
Christine Hart, Christine Hart Coaching
As an Author, Mentor, Speaker and Coach for over 16 years, Christine Hart’s expertise has been featured in over 200 media outlets including CTV, CBC, Huff Post and the Globe & Mail. She is an industry ‘leader’ in navigating the world of effective male/female communication in both personal and corporate environments.
Christine holds a BA in Communication Studies from U of C and is a graduate of the Mastery & Leadership program at PAX Programs in California specializing in Gender Intelligence.
Mydene Cuevas, Corporate Lawyer, Miles Davison LLP
Mydene Cuevas, JD: Mydene is a corporate commercial lawyer with Miles Davison LLP, where she works with entrepreneurs, businesses and corporations to assist them with the full range of their legal needs. She represents clients on matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and financial transactions. Mydene has presented on various corporate commercial and intellectual property topics for in-firm seminars, ATB Entrepreneur Centre and Technology Alberta. Mydene is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction, and a graduate of the University of Calgary in the Faculty of Law.
Daniel Jukes, Commercial Insolvency Lawyer, Miles Davison LLP
Dan Jukes is a lawyer with Miles Davison LLP in Calgary. He obtained his LLB from the University of Calgary in 2006 and was called to the bar in 2007. Dan’s primary area of practice is insolvency law, and has experience in both personal and corporate insolvencies. Dan has presented a number of papers on various insolvency topics, including presentations for the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP), the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA).
Robert Roach, Director of Insight, ATB Financial
As Director of Insight on ATB Financial’s Economics and Research team, Rob examines the economic and social forces that affect Albertans’ quality of life. He communicates his thoughts and findings in an effort to share ways in which we can all make Alberta an even better place to live. Before joining ATB, Rob was Vice-President of Research at the Canada West Foundation where he spent almost 20 years analyzing and commenting on a broad array of economic, social and public policy issues. Rob has served as Treasurer and President of the Economics Society of Calgary and is currently the Vice-Chair of the Calgary Arts Academy, an instructor for the University of Alberta’s National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration and a Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies. Rob is the co-author of two books with ATB Financial’s Chief Economist Todd Hirsch, The Boiling Frog Dilemma: Saving Canada From Economic Decline and Spiders in Space: Successfully Adapting to Unwanted Change.
Rob grew up in Calgary and holds a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
Suzanne Ebelher, Mission Ignite
Suzanne Ebelher, CMC, CHRP, MBA, wears two hats; she is both the Managing Director of Mission Ignite Management Consulting and the Director of Client Service for Business Link. Suzanne has over 15 years of experience assisting clients on a variety of consulting topics such as business process improvement, strategic planning, change management, business planning, focus group facilitation, project management, compensation reviews, HR policy and organizational effectiveness and customized training programs.
She has worked closely with various stakeholder groups facilitating community engagement discussions. Suzanne works collaboratively with her clients to help facilitate decision making and business improvements by providing the necessary support documentation, policies, processes, tools and plans in order to achieve their desired goals and vision of success. She has worked with Indigenous communities, provincial departments, unionized organizations, large private corporations, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations, assisting them all with meeting various needs.
Suzanne brings knowledge from a background in E-Learning and Adult education certificates, her Bachelor of Arts degree, her Certified Management Consultant designation, CHRP designation and her MBA specializing in Executive Management. Suzanne is also certified in Prosci® Change Management, IAP2, has an Executive Compensation Certificate and several courses towards her CPP designation.
Vincent Fung, Founder & CEO of Debain Information Technology Inc.
Vincent Fung is the Founder and CEO of Debian Information Technology Inc., a premier IT Managed Services Provider headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Queen’s School of Business. Author of the book “Computers Should Just Plain Work!”.
