Welcome – we would like to tell you a bit about PBA Canada
Our designation was rebranded on January 1, 2015 and was previously known as Registered Public/Professional Accountant – created in Alberta in 1980, Canada in 1984, Atlantic Canada in 1996, Ontario in 2013 and British Columbia in 2014. We also offer the designation internationally through PBA International Society since October 2016.
Depending on where you reside and the provincial restrictions:
- Professional Business Accountant in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Public Business Accountant in British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
WHAT CAN PBA DO FOR YOU?
Promotes, organizes and coordinates the educational activities of a diverse and growing group of designated accountants. The PBA designation can be attained when certain educational and work experience requirements are met.
Provides you with an incredible opportunity to meet with those practicing in all areas of the accounting industry. Once you have obtained your license you will be part of a professional and well-recognized association of professionals.
Educates industry, government and the general public. A Licensee holding the designation of a PBA is a designated accountant.
Brings together all qualified accountants to build bridges within the diverse sectors of the license and foster a sense of association among those licensees.
Provides a continuing program of professional development for licensees of the association through seminars, workshops and an annual convention.
